60.28-Cold-ass ass as

Over the course of several weeks, 10 contestants took part in missions in Riverview, slowly being eliminated one by one and being replaced by their shadows. Eventually, only three of them survived: Francisca Vanderburg, Maru Mango, and Virginia Supine. Currently, there are 602/1390 points in the pot, but the finalists had one last chance to earn the pot depending on what their final rankings are. What will the final pot be? Who will win? Who is the Mole?

A few months have passed since we last saw the Three Halls. Today, we are gathered here again to witness the finale.

"Let us welcome our contestants: Angelica Diamond, Lewis-Charlie Darwin, Kara Carter, Darleen Matlapin, Gino Ferrari, Trenton Alto, and Kearney O'Shea!"

"On the other side are our shadows who fought valiantly: Miriam Day, Preethi Darwin, Nadia Cho, Mariana Matlapin, Luis Toledo, Bert Alto, and Breandan O'Shea!"

"Let us not forget the only shadow to not be seated with her main: Rita Davis-Welles! Rita, how do you feel knowing your shadow made it to the end?"
Rita: "I believe in her abilities. She has done far better than I could have and played the game from the start to the finish."

"Darleen, there are rumours that you quit the Smole. Would you like to confirm it?"
Darleen: "I did. I wanted my mother to get the chance to play."
Mariana: "Oh you shouldn't have, darling. I didn't get much farther than you."

"Mariana, you received a clue after sleeping in a coffin. Do you think that helped you in your search for the Mole?"
Mariana: "It affirmed my suspicions. You see what you want to see, but I believe I was right."

"Lewis-Charlie, you had a whole strategy going into this. How did that play out for you?"
Lewis-Charlie: "Yes. I believed the Mole would sabotage at the start and end of the game and try to do well in the middle, but I think most of us here would think the opposite - so I tried to play into that. Unfortunately it didn't work out which is a shame because I had planned so much for it."

"Nadia, you had a coalition. Do you think it helped you?"
Nadia: "To some extent. As a shadow you only see limited footage. You rely on the contestants in the game to provide you more. But if I remember correctly we suspected Darleen and that obviously is wrong."

"Bert, Breandan, you were the two last shadows to join. Was it hard as a late-stage contestant?"
Bert: "There definitely were challenges but I think I did remarkably well. I wouldn't have changed a thing."
Breandan: "I am officially above Kearney in the rankings so I have no complaints."
Kearney: "But I lasted more episodes."
Breandan: "Only because I only had a few more episodes to be in."

"All three finalists have been suspected at one point or another. Without further ado, let us welcome them in!"

Maru: "I got a cold-ass ass as I sit here. Does it melt?"
Virginia: "I fear for new technology."
"Well spotted. In front of you are a laptop. Maru has answered two quotes correctly, so he can earn 4 points instead of 0 if all three entered the wrong halls a few months ago. But we still don't know that yet. The final quiz was left on a cliffhanger, but it gave them a chance to study hard for the final stretch today. 10 more questions about the identity of the Mole's shadow. The scores will be added up, and then we will know the final results."

"We request silence while they complete their quiz. You may begin."

"The finalists have completed the quiz and have taken a secret path into one the halls. Now that the final quiz is done, who do you think the Mole is, Trenton and Gino?"
Trenton: "I suspect Virginia. She is the only shadow to survive."
Gino: "Me too. I think of the mission where everyone had to walk around nude. She definitely would not have enjoyed it, so she deliberately chose the other group. That reeks of foreknowledge."

"Kara, Angelica, what do you think?"
Kara: "I think it's Maru because I trust him."
Lewis-Charlie: "Then he shouldn't be the Mole?"
Kara: "It's precisely because I trust him that he's likely to be the Mole. Expect the unexpected."
Angelica: "I agree. I don't think he has brought in much money. In fact I'm pretty certain he cost the group the most."

"How about you, Miriam, Preethi and Luis?"
Preethi: "Maru is pretty chaotic."
Miriam: "He keeps you guessing. I hear his memory isn't the best, so it's strange he made it to the finale."
Luis: "I think he's too obvious. It's more likely to be Virginia. I don't buy her inability to use computers and if it's true she should have been gone in every tie."

"Many suspicions but only one Mole. Both these finalists caught onto the Mole early, but one of them scored better than the other in the final quiz by 3 to clinch the title of winner."

"Ladies and gentlemen, the official winner of the Smole, Season 60, is..."

"...Maru Mango!"
Maru: "I did it. I'm so happy I'm gonna cry."
"Please take your seat."

Maru: "I don't know how I did it but I did it. There is one Sim I want to thank for supporting me throughout. He's the most important man in my life: Mitch. Mitch, thank you for shaping me into being the man I am today and helping me with notes and quizzes, and even the final preparations. Without you I wouldn't have won. Everyone, Mitch isn't a bad Sim. He helped me win."
"Congratulations Maru. You have been an amazing winner."

"Maru had an interesting journey to win. As a 5-time bingo winner, one may think the bingos helped him. It did, but not in the way you imagine. Maru first started the season by answering quizzes randomly. This led him to unwittingly pick the correct Mole, thus leaving one of his bingo squares unstamped."

"However, it took him four quizzes to realise the fifth bingo square was never stamped. But once he did, he starting honing in on everything about her to win. But he still took a gamble from time to time, answering quizzes randomly for the fun of it. He made sure to prepare well for the final few quizzes and thus edged out over his fellow finalist to clinch the victory."

"There are two seats left unfilled. It's time for the moment you guys have been waiting for. Who is the Mole?"

"The Mole of Season 60 is none other than..."

"...Francisca Vanderburg!"

Francisca: "It feels surprisingly good to let it all out."
"Please take your seat."

Francisca: "I am the Mole. I always wanted to say that. For so long I have been carrying this secret identity. As the 60th Mole, I didn't want to be too obvious so I thought hard about how to play this season. It's been stressful but highly rewarding."
"Thank you Francisca. You played well as the Mole."

"Francisca's strategy was to sabotage in unoptimal places. She gave herself a challenge which if pulled off well, would get her the best of both worlds in terms of suspicions and money. And she did. Only Maru and Virginia ever put her name down in the quizzes, and as we know, Maru did it 4 times by accident. The game started for her before the season started as she planned on which bingo card she wanted that would give her away the least, and later on she began sabotaging more and more. Let's find out what her sabotages are."

"In the first mission, Francisca tried to hide - a symbol for what she was to do throughout the season. She unfortunately got caught, but she herself played no part in trying to eliminate the top three contestants as the one best suited to remove them."

"In the second mission, Francisca sabotaged by missing the questions as many times as possible, effectively wasting her golf balls. She did well in most questions in terms of answers because she wasn't greedy to rack up penalties. As a result, lots of blame fell on the men."

"Francisca herself did well in the third mission by scoring well in the exam. Her sabotage was far more subtle: she distracted the others from studying by bringing attention to her found bingo card."

"In the fourth mission, Francisca missed some apples when throwing it into the tub or when bobbing for apples. This was completely overlooked by the women who spent time with her."

"Francisca seemed to spend a lot of time in the fifth mission. This is because she was diving to the locations of all the chests to try and remove points from them before anyone else arrived. She brought in 15 points as a cover but threw 25 points into the water."

"In the next mission, Francisca chose three Sims she believed couldn't make it to the end. Francisca didn't have to do much to fuel the competitiveness on the day of the race; she just needed to do her job to make it to the end and not go for money. When it was clear none of the chosen three were close to finishing, she slowed down a little and arrived fourth, narrowly missing out on blame."

"In the seventh mission, her sabotage was to keep the wrong balls in play for as long as possible. This affected her tennis match and she was the eliminated early, but this was seen as too strange a way to sabotage for a Mole according to many."

"Francisca trained to look like she was doing her best in Mission 8 when in reality she was barely contributing to the reduction of calories. She also encouraged the others to take a break as every second not exercising would count against them."

"In the next mission, Francisca focused on redundancy. She produced shirts but not pants or shoes. When Mariana came up to her needing shoes, Francisca made sure to fluster and make mistakes, preventing a second full outfit."

"Francisca later produced a difficult puzzle like the rest, but made sure to spend time helping Mariana with her obituary first. She wanted to be the last to submit her puzzle so that she could waste paper. It worked in creating last minute frenzy."

"At the cinema, Francisca did not want the red ticket or green ticket. She kept her head low with the blue ticket, diligently but slowly creating detailed sketches of movie posters to slow down her partner. In the end, the posters were nowhere near to being fully replaced."

"At the campfire, when it was clear who the secret holder was Francisca would vote correctly. But when it wasn't, she steered the group away from the right answers and protected secrets. She knew what the right order of answers was but not the secrets themselves."

"Francisca looked like she tried hard at the escape room but again she wasted a lot of time in the very first room to observe a pattern that never existed. Once she was locked inside a room, she could sit back and do nothing for the remaining time. She instead threw attention to Maru, the key coordinator."

"In the final mission, Francisca cleverly pushed the burden of points onto Virginia who didn't want to admit her suspect. This allowed Francisca to avoid entering the correct hall, immediately keeping 60 points out of the pot. She also answered her quotes wrongly in the final quiz, adding 0 instead of 6 points to the pot."

"There you have it: conclusive evidence of Francisca's moleing. We shall now invite our runner-up of Season 60. A round of applause for Virginia Supine!"

Virginia: "I may not have won, but I was right about the Mole, and my journey here was no matter of luck. It has been a rollercoaster—highs and lows, challenges and triumphs. I’ve grown in ways I never imagined, gaining clarity and strength. Truly, I have been enlightened. This season has been intensely unforgettable, and I stand proud as the only shadow who endured all trials and tribulations to come my way."
"You did an amazing job, Virginia. You also helped bring in 60 points to the pot, making it 662/1500 points."

"Virginia had an internal dilemma with her head and her heart throughout the season. As the first shadow, she gleaned little information from behind the scenes, but perhaps it was exactly that which allowed her to keep a clear mind. Emotionally, she believed Francisca and Kara had something to hide, while logically, she thought it was either Maru, Gino or Kearney. As they fell one by one Virginia began to listen more to her heart which set her on the right path."

"Francisca was suspected 24 times by both finalists, making the final winnings 686,000 Simoleons. Francisca walks home with the remaining 814,000 Simoleons. Maru, as the winner of the pot, what would you do with the money?"
Maru: "Mitch says to invest in military infrastructure. It's never a bad idea to be prepared. We shouldn't take the island's peace for granted."

"Very wise. Now let's turn our attention to the screens as observe what clues could have pointed at least 15 of you to the right direction."

"The first clue is in Episode 5, within the students' names. For the first names, take the first letter of the first student (F), the second letter of the second student (R) and so on, to spell FRANCISC. For the last names, take the last letter of the last student (A), the second-last letter of the second-last student (T) and so on to spell ATHEMOLE. Put them together to spell FRANCISCA THE MOLE."

"We jump to Episode 15 for the next two clues. Firstly, the waitress wore grey which is Francisca's favourite colour. Secondly, at one point in time Nicoletta Lombardi could be seen roaming around. Nicoletta is said to descend from royalty, just like Francisca."

"In Mission 9, Virginia received a clue in the form of a bingo card. It was handwritten by the Mole, and it is in Francisca's handwriting."

"In Episode 18, for one hour Francisca's shadow's photo frame turned red. It is not a glitch. This indicates her shadow was executed even before entering, something that can only happen if Francisca is the Mole (unless she quits)."

"The bingo card clue from Virginia also said to sit beside the victim at the next execution ceremony. The next victim was Luis, and Francisca sat beside him."

"There was a hidden clue in Mission 10's word search puzzle created by the producers. There are leftover letters in the puzzle after all words have been found."

"The key is to look at Francisca's cryptogram. A is mapped to W, B is mapped to R and so on. Using this decryption key will turn the leftover letters from the word search into a message: GOOD JOB YOU FOUND THIS. THE MOLE IS A WOMAN. HER NAME IS FRANCISCA VANDERBURG."

"Mariana had a clue in Episode 20. She saw ten tennis balls in Trenton's coffin. The clue here is in the number. At the point Trenton was executed, Francisca had stamped 10 bingo squares. If Mariana had opened Rita's coffin for example, she would have seen nothing because no squares had been stamped. As another example, if she had opened Gino's coffin, she would have seen 2 objects as she would have stamped two squares by that point."

"Francisca claimed a clue from the prize pool in Episode 21, something she was relieved to be able to do because she felt it was too obvious. The clue was a picture of butter with wings, aka a butterfly. Francisca has a tattoo of a butterfly on her arm."

"The last clue in the prize pool was claimed by Maru in Episode 27. It contained an analysis of past quizzes. While it did not directly say who the Mole was, with some intellect and deduction Francisca could be found out, with the biggest hint being that she was most likely to be the Mole overall based on the last few quizzes."

"With that, we have come to the end of the season. Thank you everyone for participating and to those who have been loyally watching the season either for the first time or for the 60th time."

And that's a wrap! I hoped you enjoyed the season! Did you find out who the Mole was? Do let me know in the comments below. Till we meet again!
