62.14-Parkouring all over the slums

In the previous mission, the final six had to pair up to complete tasks spanning four rounds. Some of them were traitors who had to sabotage to qualify for an exemption. Marshall and Seraphine were the final two, and Seraphine sacrificed the 25/80 points from the mission for an exemption. The pot is at 373/580 points. There is still time for the Mole to catch up but time is running out for one of them to catch the Mole. Who will be executed next?

●◆●◆●◆●

Caitlin: "I am in shock. I didn't expect Marshall to be a traitor. He played it so well that he was innocent. I should have guessed it when he started showing his wild side and parkouring all over the slums. All the wolf claws are coming out, understandably. Who wants to leave at this stage?"

●◆●◆●◆●

Marshall: "I played it strategically. I wanted to be in the final for the exemption. But the library task appeared and I decided it was more worth it to collect the information on Mole traits than an exemption."

●◆●◆●◆●

Marshall: "Come in."

Seraphine: "What a large room."
Marshall: "What brings you to my room?"
Seraphine: "I just wanted to congratulate you on a good game."
Marshall: "You flatter me. You are the one who managed to get the exemption, and the Mole traits."
Seraphine: "We both did well to be in the final two as traitors."

Seraphine: "It must feel quite empty in here at night."
Marshall: "It does. I wonder how Carolina is doing."
Seraphine: "If only she knew that."
Marshall: "What do you mean by that? Every father will care for his daughter."

Seraphine: "She told me that she didn't feel loved."
Marshall: "You're lying."
Seraphine: "Am I? Think back to how you treated her since the start of the mission. You have been controlling her, restricting her, treating her like a child."
Marshall: "She is! I must protect her. Brazil is not safe."

Seraphine: "You scolded her publicly for being stuck in jail in the previous mission. Instead of wondering how she was doing in there, whether she ate well and slept well, you lambasted her for being a failure. I'm sure she felt your love and concern then."

Seraphine: "I bet you don't even know why she wants to be known as a South than an Arsimfoo."
Marshall: "It's to remember her roots. I taught her the value of remembering your roots."
Seraphine: "Keep telling yourself that, Marshall."

Marshall: "If you think you're so smart, why don't you tell me the reason."
Seraphine: "It's an exit strategy. She has never felt secure enough to want to stay in this family. At least if one day you and your wife disown her, she can say she was never an Arsimfoo."

Marshall: "We will never disown her."
Seraphine: "You're right. She's grown up now. It's her that will disown you."

Marshall: "She won't."
Seraphine: "Do you really think so?"

Seraphine: "She has never felt safe and loved under your care, Marshall Arsimfoo. And now those feelings have turned into resentment. Towards you. That's why she wants to look for her real parents. Not because of the roots bullshit."

Marshall: "I don't believe you. I know my daughter better than you."
Seraphine: "She's not your daughter."
Marshall: "SHE IS!"

Seraphine: "You can say anything you want now that she's gone."

Seraphine: "I came here to see how you would react to her departure. But I may have wasted my time. There was nothing to corrupt because you're not that innocent to begin with."
Marshall: "What do you mean by that? Come back! I'm not done talking to you!"

Caitlin: "I'm disappointed by the lack of full-length mirrors around the house."
Cecelia: "Why do you need a full-length mirror?"
Caitlin: "I should practice my posing."

Cecelia: "Ha! Only amateurs need constant practice."
Caitlin: "You don't practice your magic?"
Cecelia: "I don't need to practice every day because I'm confident in my skills. It won't deterioriate just because I didn't do magic for a few weeks."

Caitlin: "The Simfest begs to differ."
Cecelia: "It was rigged. In fact the whole mission was rigged. I shouldn't have gone out first."

Caitlin: "Are you still upset about that? No hard feelings, right?"
Cecelia: "Many hard feelings."
Caitlin: "I had to campaign to save myself."
Cecelia: "And you still lost in the final juncture."
Caitlin: "There's no need to rub it in."

Caitlin: "I may not have had collected the Mole traits but I've been collecting traits with Beverly since the season started. It's worth it to form a coalition with me. What do you say?"
Cecelia: "No."
Caitlin: "No?"
Cecelia: "No. I don't want to work with a backstabbing snake. I'll prove to you that I can be in the finale without your help or anyone's help."

●◆●◆●◆●

Cecelia: "Revenge is a dish best served with success. Don't get mad at your rivals; get successful. On hindsight, I'm glad Caitlin didn't participate in the trait hunting task because she would have found out I lied. But then again, who's to say she didn't lie about who she suspected? There's no way of verifying it."

●◆●◆●◆●

Mandy: "I am beginning to suspect a bit of everyone know, particularly Caitlin, Cecelia, Marshall and Seraphine...which is everyone except Avery. I'm leaning towards Seraphine as the Mole. Only the Mole would know I was not a traitor and try so hard to push for my elimination in the mission."

●◆●◆●◆●

Mandy: "The rain is getting heavier."

Mandy: "Wait, is that..."

Mandy: "Oh my goodness!"

Seraphine: "They're works of art, aren't they?"
Mandy: "They...certainly are. You painted this?"

Seraphine: "Yes, and more. But I like these two the most because of how evocative they are."
Mandy: "That's one way to put it."
Seraphine: "Do you want to hear the story behind them?"
Mandy: "Why would you paint something so dark?"

Seraphine: "I painted that portrait of Beverly when we were at the coffee resort."
Mandy: "Wait a minute. She was extremely upset that day."

Mandy: "Did you have something to do with it?"
Seraphine: "I gave her an outlet to release all her negative repressed emotions."
Mandy: "...Meaning you painted her at her most vulnerable."
Seraphine: "Of course. That's the whole point."

Seraphine: "I'm an artist, Mandy. I find inspiration from places most Sims can't see. The latest series I am working on is themed around the corruption of innocence. But not in the sexual way. That's so boring. I want something raw. Something real."

Mandy: "This is disgusting."
Seraphine: "I'm sorry you are upset by my art, but that is exactly the reaction I hope to evoke."
Mandy: "You exploited their vulnerability."

Mandy: "Then what did you do to Carolina?"
Seraphine: "I was a listening ear, the guardian figure she wished she had."

Seraphine: "Notice the fear and scepticism in her eyes? The faltering glimmer as thoughts cloud her mind."

Mandy: "Just what did you do to them all? They can't be your first victims."
Seraphine: "Victims? They aren't victims, Mandy. They're subjects."

Seraphine: "Did I commit a crime? I didn't kill them or rob them."
Mandy: "You hurt them."
Seraphine: "I didn't hurt them. They were already hurt to begin with. I saw the cracks and knew I had to capitalise on it. I needed to be there at the exact moment they lost their innocence."

Mandy: "You made use of their hurt and forced them into situations they didn't want to be in mentally. You hurt them."

Mandy: "What if you didn't have an easel nearby?"
Seraphine: "I remember every detail exactly."
Mandy: "No wonder I don't see you writing in your journal."

Seraphine: "I would paint you too right now. That horror in your face. A tad cliche but it could be a memento. But today's Wednesday and I don't paint on Wednesdays. It's bad chakra."
Mandy: "I don't want you to paint me anyway."

Seraphine: "Oh I'm so excited I finally get to talk about my art. Caitlin and Avery barely had a reaction. They frowned when they first saw it but left it at that. I wish I could show you the painting I did based on a photo of my great-grandfather when he was a child soldier in Afghanistan."

Mandy: "I have no interest in seeing this. You are demented, Seraphine."
Seraphine: "No one understands an artist's mind."

Caitlin: "Are you not tired of wearing that same costume every day?"
Avery: "It's not a choice. My boss told me to wear it every day."
Caitlin: "But you don't wear it to sleep or shower. And we got the point already that your boss runs a hot dog business."

Caitlin: "Ooh I know! It's time to give you a makeover!"
Avery: "Aw hell naw. I ain't a girl."
Caitlin: "Makeovers aren't just for girls."

Caitlin: "Show me your wardrobe. What clothes did you bring?"
Avery: "Mainly these and my pajamas."
Caitlin: "Oh...we're quite limited in what we have."

Avery: "I can't wear something else or my boss will fire me. I need the job. My paw ain't givin' me an allowance no more."

Caitlin: "How about I do your makeup then? It's smudged by the sweat. And just smudged in general."
Avery: "Naw. I ain't gonna do it pretty like a girlie-girl."
Caitlin: "Don't you want to feel confident?"
Avery: "I'm confident in this."
Caitlin: "I...I can't argue with that. Very few Sims dare to wear a hot dog suit in public every day."

Caitlin: "Alright, since you're so committed to being a mascot, I'll teach you how to take it to the next level and represent the company."

Caitlin: "You need to know how to pose. Watch me."
Avery: "Ew. I ain't doing that."
Caitlin: "You can get a raise or a promotion if you really work hard and impress your boss. That means more money."

Avery: "I like more money...but do I really gotta do that? I ain't no sissyboy."
Caitlin: "It's different for guys and girls. You can put your hands in your pocket or run it through your hair...right, forgot what we're working with."

Caitlin: "Oh I know! You can grab the back of your head, like this."
Avery: "Like this?"
Caitlin: "Yeah. Then give a sexy smoulder."
Avery: "I can do sexy."
Caitlin: "Who's a sexy hot dog?"
Avery: "I'm a sexy hot dog!"
Caitlin: "WHO'S A SEXY HOT DOG?"
Avery: "I'M A SEXY HOT DOG!"

Caitlin: "Although maybe you should tuck your hip in a bit. It's a little too phallic right now."

●◆●◆●◆●

Avery: "Caitlin gave me a loada tips to pose and be a better mascot. I can now get more money from my boss."

●◆●◆●◆●

Marshall: "I prefer Chinese chess."
Mandy: "You can learn anything if you set your mind to it."

Mandy: "I didn't know you knew how to do parkour. Not to say that parkour is a delinquent sport but you don't seem like the type of man to practice it."
Marshall: "I wanted to get as high as possible to be easily caught on camera."

Mandy: "Where did you learn how to jump across ledges and climb onto roofs?"
Marshall: "It was a long time ago. I rather not talk about it."

Marshall: "I understand if you don't feel comfortable but I think it's pretty cool. There's nothing to be ashamed of."

Mandy: "Do you remember in the first mission when we had to do two truths and one lie, I mentioned I had a shotgun marriage?"
Marshall: "Yes. I was shocked to hear someone admit it. I would never reveal it. And now knowing you, it does not seem like you at all."

Mandy: "Yeah, I was young once. But loving someone isn't shameful. It's all about how you look at things."

Mandy: "I don't know if you know this, but I think Seraphine is a bad influence on your daughter."
Marshall: "You think so too? She said some very strange things to me this morning."

Marshall: "I knew she was trouble from the way she dressed. I wish I had noticed it earlier. I could stop them from interacting with each other."
Mandy: "That's going to be hard in this game."

Mandy: "But she had a point."
Marshall: "You're siding with her?"
Mandy: "No. But she told me that she only goes after those who are already hurt, those with cracks or something like that. She targetted Carolina specifically because she noticed the relationship between the two of you."

Marshall: "That bitc..."

Marshall: "You must think it's my fault too."
Mandy: "I'm a parent myself. I know how hard it is to raise a child. Carolina's going through her rebellious years too."

Marshall: "I don't want her to end up like me."
Mandy: "In what sense?"

Mandy: "You have to be honest with me, Marshall. And yourself too. This is how Seraphine could strike and sow doubt."

Marshall: "I was very rebellious in my youth. I often skipped school and got into trouble. I even joined a gang and got into many fights. All the tattoos I have me are scars of my past. I was a bad youth."

Mandy: "What changed?"
Marshall: "My girlfriend left me. She said she didn't feel safe with me. She said she couldn't see a future with me. Then I met someone who taught me Sim-fu. He taught me how to use my fists for peace rather than violence. He taught me meditation. I will always be indebted to my mentor. He changed me for the better."

Marshall: "And I want to pay it forward. To Norman, and especially to Carolina. I don't want her to make any of the mistakes I did that led me astray."

Mandy: "Thank you for telling me. I understand you better now. I'm sure if you told her this, she would understand too."
Marshall: "Is it too late now?"

Marshall: "I hope Seraphine hasn't done anything horrible to her. I hope I still can mend things with Carolina."
Mandy: "...I'm sure you can."

Cecelia: "I didn't realise anyone was in here. It's quite the surprise to see you studying."
Avery: "I thought I'd give it a try."

Cecelia: "Good job."
Avery: "Don't treat me like a child."
Cecelia: "What?"

Cecelia: "You need better lighting if you want to study."
Avery: "You ain't my maw."
Cecelia: "How disappointing. I thought you had a change of attitude."
Avery: "I ain't doin' all these to get your approval."

Cecelia: "I...You shouldn't be. You work hard because of yourself. Because you want to stay in the game."
Avery: "'Cos I want more money."
Cecelia: "Whatever your reason is, work towards it. It's good to have a goal. The money could really change your life too. You don't have to be a mascot forever."

Avery: "I quite like it. I got used to wearing this."
Cecelia: "Stockholm Syndrome."
Avery: "Huh?"
Cecelia: "Do you really want to stay in that lowly position forever?"

Avery: "I had it with ya. You think you're so great and uppity 'cos you studied a bit more than me and can do some magic. You smarty Sims are always looking down on us. You're the one with the attitude problem, not me. You think you're that great? You couldn't even convince a Simfest judge you deserve to win. Maybe you should go back to school or birthday parties."
Cecelia: "You--"

Avery: "I ain't done! Let 'em teach ya how to treat others with respect even if they ain't studied as much as ya. Ain't nobody like a magician who makes the audience feel bad. Even giants can fall. And when you fall everyone will clap. Ya know why? 'Cos you're a wicked wicked woman."

Avery: "Now get outta my face! You disturbed my studying."

"Patience pays off for a Mole."
Mole: "I'm not satisfied."
"Tomorrow you get another chance to manipulate the contestants and the pot to your bidding. You will want to try your best. But what's best for you may not be what's best for the pot."
Mole: "That's so misleading. Can you elaborate?"
"Unfortunately I can't give you any more information. Be prepared for what you can't predict."
