62.01-Veggies don't exist

Welcome to another season of the Smole! If this is somehow your first time being acquainted with this format: The Smole is a reality TV game show comprising 12 contestants. They will take part in challenges, otherwise known as missions, to earn points for a pot. However, among them is a Mole, whose goal is to sabotage as whatever stays out of the pot goes to the Mole in the end. The contestants must take quizzes every other episode to assess how well they know who the Mole is, with the lowest scorer being executed (or slowest in the event of a tie). This continues until we have one winner. The pot at the end? Multiplied by 1000 Simoleons all for the winner.

Without further ado, let's find out who the contestants are this season!

Alan: "Yes. You can call me I J."

●◆●◆●◆●

●◆●◆●◆●

Sullivan: "Hello guys. I hope I'm not too late."
Alan: "We are still waiting for one more."

●◆●◆●◆●

Or is it Cecelia Zazie, 40-year-old magician?

●◆●◆●◆●

Beverly: "There she is."
Cecelia: "I have arrived."

"Contestants, welcome to Season 62 of The Smole. We are here in sunny Floripa Island, a beautiful mountainous town in Brazil. Right here at Pracinha dos Mexilhões, or Mussel Square, we will have our first mission. Each of you has been told to come up with two truths and one lie. We will go round telling our statements. Each of you that can identify the lie will earn 0.5 points."

"We start with Alan. Please read your statements."
Alan: "Statement 1: I had a fear of diving before joining the special forces.
Statement 2: I convinced my sergeants to let me join the Smole because I told them it was an elite training programme.
Statement 3: I lived in the Amazon Jungle for 2 weeks as part of a basic survival course."

Caitlin: "I think the first one is a lie."
Norman: "I agree. There's no way you can join the special forces if you can't dive."
Mandy: "He didn't say he can't dive, just that he had a fear of it."
Carolina: "Noting the past tense. It means he overcame his fear."

Beverly: "I'm thinking it's either 2 or 3."
Mandy: "I think the second statement is a clear lie. There is no way he can fool his sergeants that easily."
Beverly: "You're right. I think the second one is a lie guys."

Marshall: "We should all vote for the second one."
Carolina: "Not so fast. It sounds too easy."
Marshall: "Sometimes it is that easy."
Seraphine: "Then it must be Statement 3."
Norman: "I still think #1 is more illogical."
Cecelia: "I am thinking it's the third statement as well. He doesn't look tanned enough."
Carolina: "I'm not sure a basic survival course will send you to the hell that is the Amazon jungle."
Sullivan: "You guys sound so confident."

"It is now time to vote. Please raise your hand and say 'I' if you think that statement is a lie. Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Caitlin: "I."
Norman: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Mandy: "I."
Beverly: "I. Come on guys. Vote for this one."
Marshall: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Carolina: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Sullivan: "I."
Hugh: "I."
Avery: "I ain't sure so I'll go with the majority. I."

"Alan, which Statement was a lie?"
Alan: "Statement 3."
Carolina: "I knew it!"
"That's 3 points. Pass the book to Caitlin."

Caitlin: "My first statement is, I once turned down a modelling gig because it sounded sketchy.
My second statement is, I dated more men after gaining weight.
My third statement is, my favourite colour is green."

Norman: "#2 is the lie guys. That's hard to believe."
Hugh: "Statistically it is less likely. But should we listen to statistics?"
Avery: "I think it's the first one. Ain't no one turning down free money."
Alan: "It isn't free if you have to work for it."
Sullivan: "I agree. The economy is tough. Sketchy means nothing to me. I'll take any gig I can get."
Beverly: "You guys are saying that 'cause you aren't women. I can guess what kind of gig she's talking about. I think the third statement is more sketch. If she likes green, why isn't she wearing green?"
Mandy: "Maybe because her look is sponsored. I'm actually inclined to agree with Avery and Sullivan, but for a different reason. It just sounds too vague."

Marshall: "That's a sharp observation. You are right."
Carolina: "You don't have to wear your favourite colour all the time. I still think it's the second one that's a lie."
Marshall: "Don't fat-shame."
Cecelia: "The third statement is so boring I hope it's a lie."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Avery: "I."
Sullivan: "I."
Mandy: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Norman: "I."
Carolina: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Hugh: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Alan: "I. I interacted with Caitlin the longest as we were the first two to arrive. She has confidence. Men love confidence so it's not Statement 2."
Marshall: "I."
Beverly: "I."
Cecelia: "I."

Caitlin: "Fooled ya! The second one is a lie."
"Only Norman, Carolina, Seraphine and Hugh had it right."

Mandy: "My turn. Statement 1: I thrive in stress.
Statement 2: I had a shotgun marriage.
Statement 3: I am vegetarian."

Hugh: "Y'all out here sharing a bunch of juicy deets to a bunch of strangers. And the whole world online."
Beverly: "There ain't no way I'm sharing this kind of info with the world. It has to be a lie."
Norman: "My thoughts exactly."
Avery: "Never met a veggie in my whole life so 3 is a lie."
Hugh: "She's not a vegetable. She's vegetarian."
Avery: "Never heard of it."

Carolina: "I have been right so far. Trust me. It's the first statement. It's way too vague. She said it herself earlier."
Seraphine: "I would have trusted you but you just jinxed it. I must choose a different statement now."
Marshall: "#2 is too shameful to admit so openly. It must be a lie."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Carolina: "I."
Caitlin: "I."
Alan: "I trust the girl. I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Norman: "I."
Marshall: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Beverly: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Sullivan: "I."
Avery: "I."
Hugh: "I."
Beverly: "Really?"
Hugh: "She doesn't give me vegetarian vibes."

"Mandy, please reveal the lie."
Mandy: "It's Statement 3."
"Sullivan, Avery and Hugh had it right."
Avery: "Knew veggies don't exist."

Beverly: "First of all, I love shopping.
Second of all, I am deathly allergic to peanuts.
Third of all, I once worked an office job."

Marshall: "You look like you've never worked a day in your life."
Alan: "I agree. She looks like she's never been through hardship."
Sullivan: "The vibes are giving me holiday not office job."
Avery: "Lots of peeps like to lie about allergies when they just don't like things, so I think the peanut's a lie."
Caitlin: "You have a good point."
Hugh: "You have a good point about having a good point."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Norman: "I. It's a trap. I can't be the only one to think that."
Cecelia: "I too."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Avery: "I."
Caitlin: "I."
Hugh: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Marshall: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Carolina: "I."
Alan: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Sullivan: "I."

Beverly: "Oops, most of you are wrong. I'm not allergic to peanuts."
"1.5 points more earned."

Hugh: "Alright, my time. First one: The deepest pool I ever swam in was 5.7m deep."
Second: I had my first kiss when I was 12.
Third: I was a shy child."

Carolina: "It's between #2 and #3. They contradict each other."
Alan: "The best plan is for half of us to pick #2 and half to pick #3."
Mandy: "Exactly what I was thinking. It's safer to hedge our bets. We aren't doing well."
Caitlin: "He does not look shy at all. I think it's better if we choose the third option."
Marshall: "What if he didn't have his first kiss at 12? Maybe it was 13 or 14 or 15. 12 sounds too young."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Sullivan: "I. Oh, just I?"
Alan: "Follow the plan son."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Norman: "I."
Avery: "I."
Marshall: "I."
Carolina: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Mandy: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Beverly: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
Caitlin: "I."
Marshall: "I."

Hugh: "Hate to say it but only Sully there got it right. The deepest pool I swam in was slightly over 2m. I'm no Olympian."

Avery: "I had a pet pig,
my boss asked me to join,
and I had a pet tarantula."

Mandy: "I think it's between the first and third."
Seraphine: "Hugh is the only one to have everything correct so far. We should listen to him."
Hugh: "Woah. No pressure there. But I'm leaning towards the first statement there."
Caitlin: "Then we'll follow. Sounds like a plan."
Alan: "The last plan we had failed. I don't think we should trust Hugh completely."

Carolina: "Let's not be too quick to dismiss the second one like what we did earlier. That could be the lie."
Marshall: "Hugh must be doing something right to be correct. Let's listen to him."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Sullivan: "I."
Caitlin: "I."
Marshall: "I."
Seraphine: "I. Are you not voting, Hugh?"
Hugh: "Just kidding. I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Carolina: "I."
Beverly: "I. Carolina is smart."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Norman: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Alan: "I."
Cecelia: "I."

Avery: "The four of y'all are right. I don't have no pet tarantula."
"That's 2 more points."
Seraphine: "Hugh was jinxed by me."

Norman: "1. I have a sister.
2. I beat up an enemy so badly that he was sent to the hospital.
3. I once ate live frogs as a dare and loved it."

Hugh: "I think it's #1."
Avery: "Really?"
Hugh: "Hey just putting it out there. It's so simple it could be right."
Seraphine: "Then I shall vote against you. He does not seem like someone to enjoy exotic cuisine."

Sullivan: "I'm tempted to give Hugh another shot."
Caitlin: "Really?"
Cecelia: "I think the devil is in the details. He may have beat up his enemy but didn't send him to the hospital."
Alan: "By that logic he also could have 2 sisters. Or more."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Hugh: "I."
Sullivan: "I."
Alan: "I."
Marshall: "You are wrong. I know him before this and he does have a sister. Her name is Natasha."
Sullivan: "And you didn't think to say this earlier?"
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Caitlin: "I."
Beverly: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Avery: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Marshall: "I."
Carolina: "I. Never heard him mention this before."

Norman: "I'm afraid to tell you that I do have a sister, and I do love frog legs because of a dare, but I never beat up an enemy."
"Only Caitlin, Beverly, Mandy and Cecelia were right this time round."

Seraphine: "First, I spent over 50 thousand Simoleons to buy a heart-shaped pink diamond.
Second, I stopped being friends with someone after she opened an umbrella indoors.
Third, I am an artist and photorealism is my forte."

Hugh: "I'm sticking with my guns and picking #1. I'm bound to be right eventually."
Alan: "I think Statement 2 is a stupid reason to end a friendship."
Mandy: "Those are my thoughts too but I haven't been good at this game."
Caitlin: "I'm pretty certain it's the first statement. I don't think heart-shaped pink diamonds are that expensive."
Beverly: "Everything we tried seems to fail so I think at this point we should just vote based on what we really think it is instead of listening to others. I personally think someone dressed like a cartoon character doesn't specialise in photorealism but listen to your heart folks."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Hugh: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
Caitlin: "I."
Sullivan: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Norman: "I."
Alan: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Carolina: "I."
Avery: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Marshall: "I."
Beverly: "I."

Seraphine: "The answer is the first statement."
"Hugh, Cecelia, Caitlin and Sullivan are right for this round."
Hugh: "Back in the game."

Marshall: "Statement #1: I was born in China.
Statement #2: I met my wife in China.
Statement #3: I moved out of my parents' home when I was 21."

Avery: "I think it's 2 or 3. The young'uns move out at 18 usually, but maybe he didn't meet his wife in China. What do you think Hugh?"
Hugh: "Forever #1."
Norman: "You're not taking this seriously."
Hugh: "Are we gatekeeping games now?"
Seraphine: "I sense an aura telling me that he did not meet his wife in China."

Cecelia: "His daughter's surname is South and his is Arsimfoo. It's only logical that his wife is non-Chinese."
Sullivan: "I think he's an ABC. Or the wife was on holiday. Carolina, what do you think?"
Carolina: "I'm not spoiling it for my father."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Hugh: "I."
Sullivan: "I again."
Beverly: "I'm jumping onto this conspiracy theory. I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Seraphine: "I."
Alan: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
Avery: "I."
Carolina: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Caitlin: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Norman: "I."

●◆●◆●◆●

Sullivan: "The most infuriating thing of the mission was the father and daughter pair. Marshall actually knew Norman beforehand but didn't say anything until after we voted. Why the hell? Is he the Mole? And then Carolina knew the answer to Marshall's lie but didn't want to spoil it. Like I know there's an advantage to lying successfully but we are failing so hard right now. A secured boost will be good at this point."

●◆●◆●◆●

Marshall: "Statement 2 is the lie. I met my wife in America."
"2.5 points have been added. Please pass the book to Carolina."

Carolina: "I was adopted at 4 years old,
I earned my driving license in just one lesson,
I lived in South Carolina for 3 years."

Marshall: "They all sound true."
Mandy: "So the lie is in the details."
Hugh: "I think he's more likely to remember when he adopted her but I'm in too deep to leave #1."
Sullivan: "I'm with you till the end."
Cecelia: "Seriously..."

Seraphine: "You know her, right? What is the answer?"
Norman: "I don't remember all these details. But if I had to pick I would choose the second statement."
Seraphine: "Then I shall pick something else."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Sullivan: "I."
Hugh: "I."
Alan: "I."
Cecelia: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Marshall: "I. Trust me."
Avery: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Norman: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Caitlin: "I."
Seraphine: "I."
Beverly: "I. It's too on-the-nose for her to live in South Carolina."

Carolina: "I actually took 3 lessons to get my driver's license. That was a lie. If I had known my father would be joining I would have picked a different lie."
"Marshall, Avery, Mandy and Norman had it right this time."

Cecelia: "Teal is my favourite colour."
Statement 2: I am rivals with an ex-contestant of the Smole.
Statement 3: I think magicians who take part in magic reality show contests are frauds."

Beverly: "I don't want to influence any of you but #3 smells of a rat."
Hugh: "Maybe she just has high standards."
Norman: "I think her favourite colour is teal from her attire."
Seraphine: "I think she is lying about being a magician to fool us."
Hugh: "Oh so everyone's in costume now."

Caitlin: "It's like what happened with my statements. You guys thought I was lying because I wasn't wearing my favourite colour. She could be lying about this too. It's too simple."
Alan: "I think it's plain as day. The weird one is Statement 3. Magic is magic no matter where you perform it. The statement in itself makes no sense."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Sullivan: "I."
Avery: "I."
Caitlin: "I."
Hugh: "Surprise. Not I for once."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Carolina: "I."
Marshall: "I."
Norman: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Hugh: "I."
Alan: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Beverly: "I."
Seraphine: "I."

Cecelia: "Green is my favourite colour, not teal."
Hugh: "Juh. When I decide to switch it up it's wrong."

Sullivan: "Finally it's my turn. My first statement is that I grew up watching superhero movies.
My second statement is that I'm a 1-star celebrity.
My third statement is that I think board games are boring."

Beverly: "If he's famous I would know him. I don't know him."
Hugh: "He did say he's only 1-star."
Carolina: "If he grew up watching superhero movies he wouldn't resort to a life of crime."
Marshall: "You are absolutely right. Listen to my daughter."

Caitlin: "I don't like board games. My friends tend to get too competitive."
Alan: "So Statement 3 is the truth."
Caitlin: "On the contrary it's far from boring. It's stressful. But maybe it could be boring to him."
Alan: "I don't buy that he's a celebrity."

"Who thinks Statement 1 is a lie?"
Cecelia: "I."
Carolina: "I."
Marshall: "I."
Hugh: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 2 is a lie?"
Avery: "I."
Alan: "I."
Beverly: "I."
"Who thinks Statement 3 is a lie?"
Caitlin: "I."
Norman: "I."
Mandy: "I."
Seraphine: "I."

Sullivan: "I did grow up watching superhero movies. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, all the 'man's. I also am a 1-star celebrity although it's a complicated story to tell, and I wish I wasn't famous in my community but here we are. The lie is in the third statement. I think board games are fun."
"Caitlin, Norman, Mandy and Seraphine had the last lie correct."

"Now onto the second half of the mission. Each of you will be asked one question. Then, the rest of you will have to vote again if you think it is a lie. This time, you vote as a group. If you get all 12 right, you earn 30 bonus points."

"Alan Jeffrey Iligan, are you the Mole?"
Alan: "I am not the Mole."

"Do you think Alan is lying?"
Sullivan: "We were the most successful with his lie, so I think he's telling the truth. Let's not vote for him."
Beverly: "I agree with him."

●◆●◆●◆●

Marshall: "I was not expecting that question to be asked publicly. We had to give our suspicions and I was not willing to share that. It would be inaccurate regardless."

●◆●◆●◆●

"Avery Simpson, are you the Mole?"
Avery: "Naw. It ain't me."

"Do you think Avery is lying?"
Alan: "He seems to dumb. No offence."
Beverly: "It could be psychological play."
Sullivan: "What's our play here? Do we just say everyone is telling the truth?"
Hugh: "Seems like the best idea right now. It would be fun if the hot dog man was lying though. But yeah, let's say he's telling the truth."

"Beverly Everton, are you the Mole?"
Beverly: "I wish it was, but it's not me this time."
Mandy: "This time?"

"Do you think Beverly is lying?"
Cecelia: "She's trying to hide something."
Caitlin: "I had that feeling too."
Seraphine: "I think it is most likely a double play."
Carolina: "I have that vibe too."
Hugh: "Hey hey hey, didn't we just say to vote truth no matter what?"
Alan: "So who thinks she's lying? Seraphine, Carolina, Marshall? Overruled then. Most of us think she's lying."
Beverly: "Y'all think I'm the Mole? I'm flattered."

"Caitlin Knox, are you the Mole?"
Caitlin: "It's not me sadly."

"Do you think Caitlin is lying?"
Avery: "I."
Hugh: "There's no I anymore."
Cecelia: "I support Avery."
Seraphine: "How about this. We say everyone is the Mole to protect everyone's identity."
Alan: "I disagree."
Hugh: "Me too."
Caroline: "Me three."
Sullivan: "Me four."
Alan: "Majority still says she's lying. That's what we're going for."

"Carolina South, are you the Mole?"
Carolina: "No."

"Do you think Carolina is lying?"
Alan: "She's a tough one."
Marshall: "I think she is telling the truth. I know my daughter best."
Norman: "I support you."
Mandy: "Are you going to throw your daughter under the bus like that?"
Caitlin: "So you think she's lying?"
Mandy: "I'm willing to say she's telling the truth if that's what the majority believes in."
Alan: "Raise your hand if you think she's telling the truth. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. 7 of us believe it."

"Cecelia Zazie, are you the Mole?"
Cecelia: "I've been honest and truthful thus far. It's not my fault if you couldn't get my lie right. No I'm not the Mole."

"Do you think Cecelia is lying?"
Beverly: "She's trying to victim blame. For that I'm saying she's the Mole."
Avery: "I guess she could be it. What if there are many Moles?"
Seraphine: "I don't think she's the one."
Sullivan: "If we're all being honest I don't think so either."
Hugh: "No one's gonna be completely honest. We're all serving our own agendas. But looks like most of us say she's a liar."

"Hugh Mar, are you the Mole?"
Hugh: "It could be, but not today."

"Do you think Hugh is lying?"
Avery: "Not today? I'm confused."
Alan: "Let's just make this fast. We vote like a democracy. Who thinks he's lying? 3 of you. So we're going to say he's telling the truth."

"Mandy, are you the Mole?"
Mandy: "I am not."

"Do you think Mandy is lying?"
Alan: "Who says she's lying? I think she could be lying."
Avery: "She seems smart enough."
Hugh: "I think she lied very well earlier. She could totally pull it off."
Beverly: "That's 3. So most of us are still saying no, she's telling the truth and not the Mole."

"Marshall Arsimfoo, are you the Mole?"
Marshall: "...No, I am not the Mole."
Carolina: "Why was there hesitation?"

"Do you think Marshall is lying?"
Carolina: "I think so. He hesitated so much."
Alan: "I caught that too. So it's clear? No objections? Good. We say he's lying."

"Norman Bazaxx, are you the Mole?"
Norman: "I'm not the Mole."

"Do you think Norman is lying?"
Mandy: "He answered it straight. I believe him."
Seraphine: "I sense his honesty as well. It would be bad luck to lie with a face like that."
Norman: "What?"
Seraphine: "I said we all think you are telling the truth."

"Seraphine Faqeeri, are you the Mole?"
Seraphine: "I am."

"Do you think Seraphine is lying?"
Beverly: "She's trying to confuse us. Or maybe she's trying to make us think that. Like a double bluff."
Alan: "I thought she was a good liar."
Hugh: "She lied straight to my face that she's not in costume."
Seraphine: "I'm not."
Hugh: "See? I think she's lying again."
Cecelia: "She could be lying."
Beverly: "Fine, I'll join you guys on the liar's train."
Caitlin: "Most of us still think she's telling the truth."

"Sullivan O'Migod, are you the Mole?"
Sullivan: "It would be a dream come true but sadly I don't think I'd do well in the role given my track record. That is to say that I'm not the Mole."

"Do you think Sullivan is lying?"
Cecelia: "Yes. He doesn't behave like a criminal at all."
Alan: "You are right about that."
Mandy: "You think Sullivan is the Mole?"
Cecelia: "I'm just putting it out there."
Caitlin: "Cecelia has a point. I think he's lying too."
Mandy: "He gave a lot of words, almost as if he was nervous...okay, I think he's lying too."
Hugh: "Only Cecelia, Alan, Caitlin and Mandy think he's lying, yeah? That's not enough to form a majority. We're saying he's not lying."

●◆●◆●◆●

Norman: "I was worried that they were going to immediately announce our roles. That would spoil the whole game instantly. I found the second half very confusing. I couldn't tell who was being honest and who had an agenda."

●◆●◆●◆●

"That concludes the first mission. In total, 22.5/66 points have been earned. I shall round it up to 23 points. Clearly, the bonus points were not earned since there are multiple Sims you thought were the Mole. When writing these statements, you were told that you could get an advantage if you managed to fool the most Sims. The ones to get a chance for an advantage are..."

"Hugh Mar,"

"Cecelia Zazie,"

"and Mandy Bindley."

●◆●◆●◆●

The season is off to a rough start in terms of points. For three of them, they could claim an advantage. What would this advantage be? Who is the Mole?
