17.15-Business mind

Welcome back to the Smole! Our final 7 had to sit through countless hours adding and subtracting in the last mission such that they would clinch the exemption. 140/140 points were earned, bringing the pot to 825/1260. Bernie got the exemption which he shared with Jacintha. Tay was found to be executed, much to Taylor’s upset. Who will be next?

***

Bernice: “You got to cheer up girl. Start penning down in your journal the Mole. Focus on the game or you will lose! It’s basic business.”
Taylor: “You’re right. I should pen down my thoughts to Tay. Maybe even write a love letter!”
Bernice: “Idiot. You really are a country bumpkin. I know who never to hire to my company.”
Taylor: “Like I care. I’d rather enjoy the simple lifestyle. The city’s been nice, but the country’s a great retreat.”

***

Bernie: “Mind if I join?”
Bernice: “Whatever.”

Mimi: “Hey guys!”
Bernie: “Hello…have we ever formed a coalition? Because if we haven’t, we should.”
Bernice: “It’s late. What is the point? We are taking a risk.”
Bernie: “I tell you: to beat the veterans in their game, we must work together.”

Mission time. The final 6 are to play a quick game of “don’t be the last to take the rugby”. The goal is in the title. Contestants may take 1, 2 or 3 rugbies per turn. Their objective is not to be the last. Anyone who takes 5 rubies by the end of the game will win 10 points for the team. This is worth 60 points.

By randomness, Bernice starts first. It will go clockwise.

Bernice takes 2 rugbies. It is Bernie’s turn.

Bernie takes 1 ruby. It is Taylor’s turn.
Viola: “What is he up to?”

Viola: “Bernie’s got a business mind. I must watch his moves and see how he plays. So, he takes one rugby…I wonder what he could be planning. The lesser the better? Or just plain sabotage? I don’t have to follow him, just be wary.”

Taylor takes 3. Viola’s turn.

Viola takes 3. Mimi’s turn.

Mimi takes 3 as well. Jacintha’s turn.

She also takes 3. Back to Bernice.

Bernice takes 2 again. Bernie’s turn. He takes 1 yet again.

Taylor takes 2.

Only 5 rugbies left.

Viola and Mimi take 1 each.

Jacintha takes 1.

Bernice takes the last rugby. Surprise, surprise, she earns a hidden exemption. She chooses to share it with Mimi.

Bernice: “I’m not sharing it with Bernie, that’s for sure. He didn’t give it to me previously. I’ll give it to Mimi because she seems desperate enough.”

Let’s see how many rugbies they have.

Mimi has 5.

Viola has 4.

Taylor has 5. Jacintha has 4,

Bernie has 2.

Bernice has 5. As such, 30/60 points have been earned. The pot now has 855/1320 points.
