41.17-Everything happens for a reason

In the previous episode, the contestants had to pull off a museum caper, stealing a heart-shaped diamond to earn 150 points. Unfortunately, everyone was caught so no points were earned, leaving the pot at 396/1200 points. Nobody managed to steal the Anubis figurine either so nobody earned a hidden exemption. The Mole of course wouldn't need it, but which contestant does?

DAY 17

Pamela: "I never really did find out what your horoscope was."

Zane: "Why? Suspect me? Or do you think I'll be going home next?"

Zane: "Just joking. I'm a Leo."

Pamela: "Wonderful! I'm an Aries. That means we're compatible!"

Zane: "Compatible? I don't really believe in horoscopes."

Pamela: "Do you want to take things to the next level? We've known each other for quite a while and I think you might be the one."

Zane: "But that bod's not bangable..."

Zane: "Oh my mama!"

Kelly: "What?"

Zane: "Uh...nothing."

Zane: "She's one hot MILF."

Zane: "She better not turn around. I saw her side view. I can only imagine what it's like frontal..."

Zane: "Sorry but can we talk about the game instead?"

Pamela: "But the game only lasts for a couple more days. Bonds built are for life."

Zane: "No offense but you feel more motherly."

Pamela: "Oh...is that why I haven't had much luck with love?"

Pamela: "Sorry if I was too forward."

Zane: "I'm going to lift some weights. Come find me if you want to talk about the game."

Zane: "Ever since Jane left Hans largely kept to himself and played his own game, so this will be a challenging 5 points to score. Furthermore he was my suspect since Day 1. Now that he's gone I don't know what to think of anything any more. Should I continue to trust Pam? What if the only reason she kept me safe was to keep up the charades?"

Kelly: "After Pamela's incessant complaints that her letter remains to be undelivered, the producers finally decided to bring us somewhere to patronise her."

Claves: "What are we doing here?"

Pamela: "They kept saying everything has been delivered but I knew that wasn't the case. Or else why would we be here?"

Zane: "I'm going to take a look around."

Pamela: "You haven't received your letter yet, right?"

Claves: "No I did not. Do you think it could be here?"

Pamela: "More than that. I think the whole reason the mail wasn't delivered was because they were waiting for one of us to go home. In this case, it's Hans. They want someone else to be able to win the letter as long as we find it."

Pamela: "I'm going to go find it."

Kelly: "Everything happens for a reason. I can probably find clues here."

Kelly: "Why did they choose the library?"

"Claves, there are only 396 points in the pot currently. If we offered you an exemption, how much would you be willing to pay for it?"

Claves: "Everything."

Pamela: "It's a kids' room. I want to get married and have kids but I haven't found the right one yet. Zane doesn't seem interested in me and all I've been doing from the moment I joined was to make a fool of myself."

"If we offered you an exemption, how many points would you be willing to pay for it?"

Zane: "300 points. I know it's a lot but if I lose out just because I wasn't willing to spend the money I would kick myself."

Pamela: "We don't have much points right now. There's a 1/3 chance of us making it through to the finale so I'll spend 1/3 the points for it. 100 points."

Kelly: "270 points is what I would spend. I don't want to empty the pot out completely and I believe none of the others would want to either. Maybe except the Mole."

"Also, Kelly, there is an urgent call for you."

Kelly: "Who is it?"

Kelly: "Hello?"

Gary: "Kelly? It's me, Gary. I've been trying to get a hold of you for so long."

Kelly: "Why are you calling me? I'm currently filming a show."

Gary: "I know. The Smole, right? Your brother told me. Anyway, you remember my mom Loretta right?"

Kelly: "Why the hell did you bring up that cunt's name? You know how I feel about her."

Gary: "I know. She's the whole reason why we never ended up together. But she's recently been diagnosed with dementia."

Kelly: "Dementia?"

Gary: "Yes. Recently she's been asking about Mia."

Kelly: "That's another name I don't want to hear ever again. Your oh-so-perfect sister that your mother always compared me to. She was so smart and so beautiful and so perfect. She should have just made you two marry each other."

Gary: "She got into an accident a week ago and died."

Kelly: "Sorry. I didn't know."

Gary: "It's fine. I never agreed with the competition nor did I care that she attended uni and you didn't. But all that is water under the bridge right?"

Kelly: "I don't know about that..how is Loretta holding up?"

Gary: "See? You care about her."

Kelly: "I'm going to hang up."

Gary: "Chillax. Anyway, she saw a photo of you and thought you were Mia. Mia has been taking care of Loretta ever since she was diagnosed. Now that she's gone, I don't know how Mia ever coped. Can you hear that? She's throwing tantrums again. She wants to see her beautiful, smart, perfect daughter. She wants to see you."

Kelly: "You want me to pretend to be Mia? I can't do that. That's cheating her feelings."

Gary: "Humour an old lady for me, will you? I know you can't leave right now but please come visit ASAP."

Gary: "Your presence will mean the world to Loretta. I know you must feel indignant but all this happened a long time ago. She's already gotten her comeuppance by having dementia. Don't you think it's time to let go of the hate and move on?"

Kelly: "This is too much to take in."

Gary: "Anyway, I gotta go. She's starting to throw things around. I know deep down you have a heart of gold. I'll be expecting you. NO DON'T TOUCH THAT!"

Zane: Now that it's not Hans, I've become extremely confused. Pam's suspects are out of the game as well. All three ladies have failed miserably a lot of times. But I think Kelly failed the most.

Pamela: I trust Zane 100%. That leaves either Kelly or Claves. I heard from Zane that Claves disappeared halfway and then got herself eliminated. That is highly suspicious and in the Mole's character to get away from the group. Who knows what she was really doing?

Claves: Most probably the Mole is female. Not only was Pamela the first to be eliminated but she also made a lot of noise. She constantly screamed when she saw a camera and kept running toward cameras. The guard would have to be blind to not see her on screen. Regardless, I'm glad I saved my two corrections to use now.

Kelly: Claves may have worn stilettos but she was silent when creeping. Pamela was the opposite. She also wore bright clothes. She also got eliminated first and before even leaving the first level.

"Contestants, welcome to your final execution ceremony."

"Earlier each of you were individually asked how much you would spend for an exemption. The average was 266 points. That amount will be temporarily deducted from the pot, leaving you with 130/1200 points. However, none of you will be receiving an exemption."

"Pamela Aries, we shall start off the execution ceremony with you. If the light in front of you turns green, you are going through to the finale. If it turns red, you are the last to be executed this season."

Pamela: "Bring it."

Pamela: "Oh."

"Unfortunately Pamela Aries, you are the last to be executed. Please pack your bags and leave."

Kelly: "What?"

Claves: "I would like to give her a round of applause. I think she played this game quite well. I know she confused a lot of executed contestants."

Zane: "There goes my coalition partner. She was so passionate and adventurous. And I admit that even I was starting to doubt her innocence. I feel bad now that she's gone."

Pamela: "It's alright. I hope you will learn from this Zane. Please win this for me and don't be the Mole or I would cry."

Pamela: "I'm trying so hard to hold back my tears. It's been a wonderful journey. On the Smole I've done so many things I never would have done in my normal life. I'm glad to have made it so far to be honest. I thought I had it but when Hans left I realise I was clueless all along. I think Zane was faster than me because we had the same suspect so it likely came down to speed. I just wish I found the letter in time. Oh well. At least I got to know so many wonderful players and can now use those spa vouchers I won at the casino."

The bell tolls seven times, one for each fallen contestant. Only three stand in the courtyard listening to the tolls. Once, twice, thrice...three finalists but only one winner. Who will win? And arguably more importantly, who is the Mole?

Is it Kelly Hoggart, the gym owner who hides more than her age?

Is it Zane Aason Averridge, the easy-going events planner whose entire life has prepared him for staying under the radar?

Or is it Clavés Vann, the spy who is working for more than one side?
