38.13-Need for speed

In the previous episode of the Smole, the final seven had to sort themselves into cabins before the train reached the last station, ensuring that they did not end up with a crowd of three or more in any cabin. Although they ended up at all the right places, Julie's cabin was no longer worth points because they had failed the last condition. This meant that 60/80 points were earned for the mission, and that the pot now had 629/880 points. Unfortunately, Carl's hard work was for naught as he could not savour the fruits of his labour. With Carl's execution, will the Mole have an easier time sabotaging? Or will the Mole no longer be able to hide in the shadows?

Abbie: "Carl was the man with a plan, and he would do it. He's so inspiring and has taught me a lot. I hope I win and I know I am on the right Mole, but even if I don't win and lose out to Quinn or someone else, I would still be able to get rich from what he taught me."

Keith: "On the one hand, it's great that the missions are really successful so far. But on the other hand, it is making it hard to spot the Mole, since the Mole doesn't reveal himself or slip up. This Mole is a very clever and careful one. A wily fox."

Julie: "Ahem. Mr. Morgan sir, may I interest you in Armwey's latest products?"

Morgan: "No."
Julie: "But--"

Morgan: "If I want something, I'll approach you for it. Otherwise, I am not interested, and never will be."
Julie: "Sorry..."

Morgan: "Please do not irritate me like this ever again. If you do it just ONE more time..."

Julie: "I even got dressed and was extremely polite to him. What went wrong?"

Quinn: "I quite pity Julie."
Ivy: "For once, I agree with you. Morgan is being an ass."
Quinn: "Oh, you changed your stance towards Armwey?"
Ivy: "No. I just think Morgan could have handled her better."

Keith: "A quick rinse to keep me clean."

Keith: "I learned this trick in uni when I was pressed for time."

For their next mission, contestants will go cycling. There are six bicycles. Each contestant will have to take a bicycle to Hangman's Tree National Historic Landmark in 20 minutes in order to take part in the next part of the mission.

Keith: "I have a need. A need for speed."

Abbie: "I'm all dressed for the occasion. I knew working out would be handy."
Julie: "I hate exercise."

Morgan: "Where could this historic landmark be?"

Ivy: "Do I turn left or right?"

Keith: "Good thing I exercise regularly, or I'd never be able to ascend this slope."

Julie: "I can't keep up with her."

Quinn: "I asked around, and locals said it was somewhere high up."

Keith: "Aha! That must be the tree."

At the landmark, contestants must answer 160 questions regarding the Smole, with each question being worth 1 point. They can earn an additional 10 bonus points if they correctly answer the bonus question, which is unlocked if and only if they cycle through all 160 questions first. Each contestant gets seven and a half minutes to try and answer all the questions.

Keith: "There's no time to lose. I'll begin with the first question."

Abbie: "I think I see it!"

Abbie: "I'm here! Let's see. Question 1: How many completed seasons of the Smole are there? That's easy. It's 37."
Keith: "Abbie, maybe you should start from the bottom."

Keith: "Is it not logical to assume that the first contestant to reach will start from the first question? It's not like we get any more points if we answer a question more than once. Points will only be earned for the first time a question is answered, so I have no idea why Abbie was wasting her time redoing questions I already answered."

Morgan: "A historic landmark should be in the heartlands."

Julie: "Am I in time?"

Julie: "Huff...I'm tired..."

Julie: "Let me take a breather first..."

Abbie: "How many male Moles have there been so far, excluding this season? Hmm...starting from Season 1..."

Julie: "Okay, I'm ready. Which questions have not been answered?"

Julie: "Keith and Abbie were all rapid-fire. They didn't respond to me. I didn't know what questions they had completed and which were not answered. They didn't cross it off the list or anything. So what I did was chose questions I had confidence in answering."

Keith: "In which season did a 'Wheel of Fortune' Mission first appear in? That's Season 11, with Prissy Chrissy."

Abbie: "Name one season in which episode titles were used as hints. Hmm...I think Season 26 is one of them."

Keith: "To date, only one Mole has reprised this role. Name the Mole. It's so easy. It must be Skye Lowe."

Abbie: "What is Calvin's last name? Who's Calvin? Pass."

Keith: "Who was the first ever contestant to be executed? Harry Johns."

Julie: "Erm...how many seasons are there on the Smole? 38. Oh wait, I read that wrongly. It should he completed seasons!"

Morgan: "I never expected it to be this far away. In what way is this a historic landmark?"

Morgan: "I'm here."
"Morgan, you did not make it in time. Hence, you are unable to participate in the second part of this mission."

Morgan: "You have got to be kidding me."

Abbie: "Which seasons did Heather Long win? Season 12 and Season 15. I think she was only on for two seasons."

Ivy: "I think I'm lost."

Ivy: "I'll just stop and ask for directions."

Ivy: "Hello there. My name is Ivy."
Kenji: "I'm Kenji. Nice to meet you."

Ivy: "Kenji, do you know where Hangman's Tree Historic National Landmark is?"

Kenji: "You first take that road, then turn left at the third intersection..."

Ivy: "I see. Thank you for your help."
Kenji: "If all else fails, just look for a tall dead tree at the peak of this place."

Morgan: "I'll just observe them."

Julie: "These questions are hard. What is Kay's catchphrase?"
Keith: "Like I'd never!"

Julie: "Hey, that was my question! Well, I suppose I wouldn't have known any way."

Abbie: "How old is the oldest contestant to be on the Smole? I think it's 72."

Ivy: "I better hurry. I don't know how long I've taken."

Abbie: "How many contestants have appeared on the Smole in total thus far? I'm going to have to count. This might take a while."

Julie: "Let me help you. 12+10..."

Keith: "Could Jake Huez drive in Season 30? No. In which season were there two Moles? Season 30. What was the first mission of Season 32 about?"

Quinn: "Where is it, where is it..."

Quinn: "I'm a rudimentary cyclist, so I am not the best at cycling quickly."

Ivy: "I think this is the place."

Ivy: "Wait a minute. This is the graveyard. The actual landmark is further up."

Quinn: "Why is Morgan just sitting there?"

"Quinn, you are too late. You cannot participate in the second part of the mission."
Quinn: "Oh man."

Ivy: "At last."
"Ivy, you are too late. You cannot participate in the next part of the mission."

Morgan: "Join the club."

Only three can earn points, but can they get all the questions right?

Keith: "Vera Blackburn of Appaloosa Plains played an important role in Season 33. What was her role?"
"Keith, your time is up."
Keith: "SHE HELD THE EXEMPTION! Oh, time is up."

Julie: "Who won the least amount of money? Erm...there were some winners who earned nothing. I think Douglas was one of them...no, it was Morris. Morris Delven."

Abbie: "How much did the Mole walk away with in Season 3?"

Abbie: "Oh! If I recall, it's 500,000 Simoleons! I think I'm doing a good job."

Julie: "How many contestants made it out of the maze of mirrors in Season 30, Mission 6? Skip. I don't know the answer."

Keith: "I think I did quite well."
Ivy: "I definitely saw the speed at which you went through the questions. But how accurate are your answers?"

Quinn: "Are you focusing on the mission or on Ivy?"

Morgan: "Of course I'm observing the mission."
Quinn: "Really? Your eyes are elsewhere."

Quinn: "It's not my business to probe, but with the two of you sleeping in the same bed every night, there better not be a tryst going on. Don't be unfaithful to your wife. I can't tolerate infedility."

Morgan: "What are you talking about? We are just work partners."
Quinn: "That better be the case. I hate unfaithful men. I would snip his crown jewels off if my fiancé tried to flirt with someone else."

Morgan: "And we don't share a bed any more. She moved out."

"Your time is up, Abbie."

Abbie: "I am sure all my questions are correct."

Julie: "It's all up to me now. I feel so important suddenly."

Julie: "I can't cherry pick any more. I think I shall begin somewhere in the middle."

Abbie: "I scored full marks, don't worry."
Morgan: "I wouldn't be so confident if I were you."
Quinn: "The problem with this mission was that there was no communication among the three of you. You would have definitely answered questions that were already answered."

Julie: "Eh...16th."

Julie: "Next question. What was Charlie Ray Buckshot's occupation before he retired? It was a...singer, if I am correct."

Julie: "I need to go closer a bit. I can't see."

"Time is up."
Julie: "Ah well. I think I grew ten more pimples from the stress."

"Contestants, it was both a mentally and physically exhausting day for you. How successful have you been? Overall, 57 questions have been answered correctly, leading to 57 points added to the pot which is now at 686/1040 points."

"Keith, you answered the most questions: 53. However, only 32 of them are correct and earn points."

"Abbie, you answered 25 questions. However, after removing the repeat questions and incorrect answers, you only brought in 17 points."

"Julie, that means you have 8 unique and correct answers, out of the 12 questions you answered."

The group's performance fell in this mission. Is it the work of the Mole? Can the group pick themselves up from here?
