43.17-We're all Moles

Last time on the Smole, the final three had to identify songs based on their intros. They earned 30/150 points for that. Since working together was not their forte, they got a chance to sabotage one another in the final mission. However, they failed to claim the bonus points as Bernadette and not Xayden reached the 15th tile first. As a result, the pot remained at 324/1000 points. Only one final quiz remains and their knowledge will be put to the test. Who will win, and who is the Mole?

Xayden: "Just 3 more tiles and I would have won. But somebody had to keep sabotaging me."

Alistair: "It was just a bonus mission."

Xayden: "One that we desperately needed. I know it's you. This is your petty way of getting back at me."

Bernadette: "Break it up. You two are being childish. I don't care what feud you have but it has cost us too many points."

Bernadette: "Look at our pot! 324 points? We did the Mole a great service."

Xayden: "We're all Moles here."

Angel: "Be honest with me. You were the one who kept gossiping about Xayden, right?"

Alistair: "What makes you so sure?"

Bernadette: "We can't sabotage ourselves and I know I never mentioned Xayden at all, so it had to be you. Why can't you just be honest with me?"

Alistair: "Sorry. It's my fault. Don't be upset with me."

Bernadette: "At least tell me why."

Alistair: "Because you didn't believe me when I told you about Xayden. So I had to prove it to you. I talked about his bombing and his past life. He's Bartleby Stinger. The one who tried to bomb his boss's house..."

Bernadette: "Enough is enough. I can't believe that's the best excuse you can come up with. You say you kept talking about him but you were wrong about one of your facts so what does that prove?"

Bernadette: "Let it go, Alistair. Be the bigger man."

Alistair: "You tell him to let it go. He started it."

Bernadette: "I don't want to be involved in your drama. Maybe it's a good thing this season is coming to a close. At leas you won't have to see each other again."

Bernadette: "I don't mean to probe but the two of you can't even get along for one mission."

Xayden: "He admitted he was the one who wrecked the mission?"

Bernadette: "He was being selfish and as a result caused the mission to fail. He said he was trying to prove to me something."

Xayden: "...You believe him?"

Bernadette: "I'm sure it started out as a harmless prank but spiraled out of control and became too destructive. I just wish you could forgive him. Won't you two talk it out for my sake? It's tiring being caught in between."

Xayden: "I have nothing to say to him."

Bernadette: "I thought he was being selfish but it turns out that you are too."

Xayden: "Take back your words."

Bernadette: "It hurts but you need to realise that your stubbornness is partly at fault."

Xayden: "Take. It. Back."

Bernadette: "...You're not actually Bartleby Stinger, are you?"

Xayden: "I am. So you better think twice about what you say to me or I'll make you pay."

Bernadette: "I can't believe that Alistair was right all along..."

Bernadette: "I've been living with a wanted man for weeks. I can't believe it. I've never been so fearful and confused. How can someone as docile as Xayden be the violent, destructive Bartleby Stinger?"

As an actor, he knows how to lie and pretend to look innocent. He managed to gain Isabella's trust and where is she now? Executed. All I was trying to do was to scare him a little and make him regret all that he's done to me...and the sabotages he did as the Mole.

Bernadette Sheridan is mischievous and has outright sabotaged before but I think she is way too blatant to be the Mole and is just messing around. Hers is more benevolent so I don't feel it's her. At least in the final mission she was the one trying to get the bonus points."

Which is what Angel's attitude has been towards this whole season."

We are here at Lost Willow Park for the finale of the Smole, Season 43. It is in this forgotten grounds that we remember the fallen contestants and learn the dastardly truth: Who is the Mole?

"Welcome back. The five of you could not escape the Mole's clutches and fell prey. Tonight, you can finally get to find out who you lost to."

Sherman: "I would've made it if not for that stupid twist mid-season. Who was the lowest scorer that time anyway?"

Cedric: "It was me."

Sherman: "You!"

Sherman: "You made me lose all my hard work! All for naught!"

Cedric: "You probably wouldn't have made it very far considering you were second lowest."

Sherman: "I'm done talking to you."

Adrianna: "Wow, this is juicy. I wish I didn't leave so early."

Sherman: "That melancholic man didn't deserve to outlast me. He stole my spot!"

"Unfortunately, what's done is done. There's no use dwelling on the past. Instead, let's focus on the present, like who won and who the Mole is."

"Speaking of them, there they are! The finalists of Season 43: Xayden Hold, Bernadette Sheridan and Alistair Raymond!"

"Finalists, congratulations on outlasting the rest. Tonight, you will finally reveal your true identity and find out the answer to the question plaguing your mind. But first, in classic Smole fashion, let us review the sabotages by each of our three finalists."

"Let us begin with Xayden Hold.

In Mission 1, he struggled a bit with the apple bobbing. He also gave a few incorrect names, like Susan Angel instead of Susan Angels.

In Mission 2, Xayden managed to lead Bernadette to only claim 10 out of 50 points.

In Mission 3, Xayden's all-black getup made him stick out like a sore thumb. His size also made him a bad choice for a sneak.

In Mission 4, he completed 3 out of the 4 tasks, taking 45 points from the pot.

In Mission 5, he threw 3 wrong balls.

In Mission 6, Xayden failed to identify the real low scorer. Was it to cover for Cedric?

In Mission 7, Xayden got lost halfway and separated from the group. He also got lost more than once.

In Mission 8, Xayden only sculpted something worth 34 Simoleons.

In Mission 9, Xayden failed to solve the puzzle as he broke some rules, halving Isabella's points.

In Mission 11, he only got 2 songs correct.

In Mission 12, Xayden could have texted about Bernadette but did not, allowing her to advance to the finish first."

"Next, Bernadette Sheridan.

In Mission 2, she did not listen to Xayden and as a result earned far less than she could have.

In Mission 3, she tried to hard at the game, resulting in a minimal score difference which meant that Isabella and Xayden had only one minute to get to the end-point after the rest.

In Mission 4, Isabella thought Bernadette was the thief and shot her. Was it a cover-up for the real thief? Did she know who it was prior to the mission?

In Mission 5, Bernadette failed to catch a few balls to earn points.

In Mission 6, she took 20 points from the pot to spy on two contestants taking the quiz. She also did not identify Cedric in the end.

In Mission 7, as the first cyclist Bernadette set the pace by going too fast, resulting in the less athletic contestants lagging too far behind to contribute to the mission.

In Mission 8, her sculpture, while the most valuable, only fetched 35 Simoleons.

In Mission 9, her first step broke some rules, halving Xayden's points.

In Mission 11, Bernadette only got one song correct.

In Mission 12, Bernadette could have deliberately made a fake fact about Alistair, which would guarantee she be last and thus not reach the end point first."

"Last but not least, Alistair Raymond.

In Mission 1, he was zealous enough to help Sherman come up with names but not all were correct.

In Mission 2, after being led to bad outcomes so many times by Adrianna, Alistair still followed her lead blindly.

In Mission 3, he worked very hard but did not correct Sherman when they went the wrong way and in the end had nothing to show for his effort.

In Mission 4, at certain points he acted suspiciously, perhaps to cover for the real thief.

In Mission 5, he threw four wrong balls. This is despite him having acted in movies.

In Mission 6, Alistair spent 20 points to spy on two contestants doing the quiz. He also did not manage to identify the lowest scorer.

In Mission 7, Alistair insisted that someone had lied about Isabella's number even though it was actually because they had stopped cycling for a while. Was he just pretending not to know and hoping to pin the blame on someone else?

In Mission 8, his sculpture was grand but one of the least valuable, at only 28 Simoleons.

In Mission 9, Alistair failed to solve the puzzle, thus halving Bernadette's points.

In Mission 10, Alistair wanted to make both himself and Isabella suspicious by not exchanging tokens, thereby losing points. In the end he chose to take three tokens worth nothing.

In Mission 11, he only got 3 songs correct.

In Mission 12, Alistair kept texting about Xayden, preventing him from reaching the finish point and winning 100 points."

"All of them have gotten their hands dirty at one point or another. Which one of them is actually the Mole?"

"The Mole of Season 43 is..."

"Xayden Hold!"

Xayden: "It was not an easy journey but I did my best. My strategy was to sabotage subtly. Like I said in my intro, I'm ready to drop the ball any time. The bright side is that I can finally tell everyone that I'm the Mole. I feel so free."

"Thank you Xayden. With only 324/1000 points in the pot, you claim the other 676 points. However, you have been suspected 8 times on the quiz, which means to say you earn 668,000 Simoleons. Still a pretty good amount."

Alistair: "Damn."

Bernadette: "I knew it!"

"We now know who the Mole is. One of the finalists succeeded in identifying him but one of them switched at the last minute. Who is the runner-up?"

"The runner-up this season is Alistair Raymond!"

Alistair: "I'm kicking myself right now. I had him. I was onto Xayden and then I managed to convince myself that I was wrong. This is so embarrassing right now. Can we wrap this up soon?"

"That means that our winner of the Smole, Season 43 is none other than Bernadette Sheridan!"

Bernadette: "I'm stoked. This feels like a dream come true. I actually won. I'm really thankful to have been a part of this. It's been a wonderful season, from the cast to the filming location. I'm still at a loss for words. I actually won!"

"Yes you have. You get 332,000 Simoleons!"

"Bernadette, you were the first one to suspect Xayden. However, Alistair soon caught up and was doing better than you. If not for the last-minute switch, the winner could have been Alistair and not you."

Bernadette: "Really? I must thank Alistair then for giving me the win."

Alistair: "Fuck. Way to rub salt in my wound. At least I don't feel as bad for not getting the bonus points in the last mission since I didn't win anyway."

"Regardless, it has been a close fight between the two of you, so both of you are deserving finalists."

"Let us now bring our attention back to our Mole, Xayden. We know how he sabotaged now, but what are the clues pointing to him?"

"The first clue has been in your face all along. In the poster of the Smole, the moustache is Xayden's. However, upon closer inspection there is a MOLE hidden in the moustache."

"The second clue was always in the house. One quiz asked about the Mole's favourite Netflix show. Xayden's is Black Mirror. There was a black mirror in the basement. Cedric was even seen using it at one point."

"In Episode 4, the number '01' could clearly be seen on the taxi Adrianna, Alistair and Sherman were in. This number could also be seen on Xayden's jacket."

"In the same episode, each of the locations had a Smole thumpbrint on it. The final destination was marked out with an X. X marks the spot? No, but X marks the Mole. X for Xayden."

"In Episode 12, Bernadette's river-crossing puzzle involved characters from the Disney game Kingdom Hearts. The characters involved all had 'Nobodies'--a heartless version of themselves. The Nobodies' names were changed from their original counterparts and an 'x' was added into their names. For example, Sora's Nobody is Roxas. Similarly, Xayden's name was changed (from Bartleby Stinger) and his name contains an 'x'."

"In Episode 15, Bernadette sang the lies 'Magic, madness, heaven, sin'--a line from Taylor Swift's hit song Blank Space. We know that Xayden has gone mad and sinned when he tried to set off a bomb in the bathroom with Alistair in it. What about the other two though? In Episode 16, he talks about a snowflake that fell from HEAVEN, and how MAGICal it was."
